Full-day hike from Himalayan Orchard through apple orchards and deodar forest, passing four sacred village temples, Bhim's boulder, the Hanging Rock, to the local peak of 8,800 feet / 2,685 metres. Picnic lunch.
Cost: 2,000 INR per group if guided.
One day hike. Leave Himalayan Orchard and head west along the road for 500 m to the bend. Ascend the pink steps through Rukhla village. Turn right at the temple (do not enter) and then left up the ridge past people's houses as far as the school house. Continue up to the right of the school as far as the next temple (do not enter) on the ridge above Keeth village. Follow the blue & white marks up behind the upper Keeth temple to Five Ways and a flat rock with a hole in it. Turn left along the '00' for 30 minutes, past Bhim's Boulder as far as the Hanging Rock before a rain shelter and a spring. Just before the rain shelter head up the A7 for another 30 mins until you reach Neraghati temple on the other side of the road. Turn left at the temple and after 500 m take a sharp U-turn up a kutcha road up to 4th temple half-way up Neraghati peak. There are benches overlooking the valleys in every direction. Continue up to the peak where you will find the foundations of another temple or more likely a fort. Head back down to the road and turn right, back past the Neraghati temple and the shops. Stick to the road for 1.5 kms as far as Bhuilaghat rainshelter on the right. Below the road is a jungle cricket pitch. Cross the pitch towards the right and go down the AI back to Himalayan Orchard.
